FRONT DESK VOLUNTEER

 
 

THE ROLE

  • Welcome all visitors to the clinic

  • Assist patients with the enrollment process

  • Check-in and Check-out patients in our EMR system

  • Schedule follow up appointments

  • Answer incoming phone calls

  • Take and transcribe phone messages and rely them to the correct staff member.

  • Remind patients of their upcoming visits and necessary documents (phone calls)

  • Handle incoming/outgoing mail

  • Help keep the front desk/waiting area clean and organized.

EXPECTATIONS:

The role requires volunteers to be punctual and reliable, with a minimum commitment of 4 hours per shift, and should be flexible as occasional extended hours may be required.

You are expected to maintain a professional, welcoming, and efficient environment while supporting daily administrative operations. Responsibilities include scanning and faxing documents accurately, answering and directing phone calls in a courteous manner, and upholding proper etiquette and respect in all interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.

Volunteers should demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring clear, friendly, and professional engagement at all times.

All tasks must be performed in compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.

Basic computer skills are necessary to complete administrative tasks efficiently and accurately.
